Learning Experience Design
As an educator and learning designer, I have experience building educational institutions and programmes from the ground up. Over more than a decade, I have done so by creating and facilitating delightful, impactful learning experiences (in-person, blended and online), managing programs, building relationships, and engaging communities. I am experienced in backward design, design thinking for education, and product management/UX methodologies. Having taught multiple age groups, in recent years I have focused on younger age bands, on social-emotional learning of children, children’s media consulting and UX design in learning apps.
EdTech Product Design
My product design and UX work in children’s media is grounded in my background in education research and design thinking. Technology I have worked with include games, apps, social communication platforms, AR, e-books, and film. I conduct kids user research for the technology and media space and have helped clients adjust products to the German and Nigerian markets. As an independent senior-level children’s media expert with Google Play, I have supported the development of various products aimed to create valuable and enriching digital experiences for children and families, including the Google Kids Space. As a children’s media consultant, I advice clients on content for children and strategy for their kid profile from both a creative and pedagogical perspective. As a children’s media producer, I collaborate with fantastic child development experts, psychologists, animators, software developers, game developers, creatives and subject matter experts from across the world to design the next generation of delightful, meaningful digital learning and entertainment experiences for children.
Curriculum Design
I discovered my passion for curriculum design as a student at the Stanford Graduate School of Education. Since then, I have designed curricula and learning materials for educational institutions and programmes across the globe. I combine my background in education research, theory, philosophy and history with an excitement for emerging trends in innovative learning design. My curriculum work faciliates experimental, child-centred, objective-driven and interactive learning. I am an advocate of lifelong, playful learning and believe that diversity, including neurodiversity, is an asset, not an obstacle, to indidvidual learning and society at large.
